Christmas King Fish

We set out a couple days before Christmas to catch some fresh snapper for the table. Much to our surprise, when we got offshore the King Fish bite was insane. We could have sunk the boat with them. Finding them this thick, during this time of year is unusual, but fun nonetheless. At one point we had 2 kings on screaming drag, while we watched, others skyrocket left and right. It was literally raining fish.

Sal caught his first hog fish, on the second drop. It was the Christmas jackpot.

The kings were so thick, this guy hit a grouper rod on the bottom. Eagle Claw’s circle hook got the job done.

We even got into a few American Red Snapper. All in all, it was a great day of winter time fishing.
